The existing 2 partners set up the business using their previous 30 years of switchgear experience gained working for leading industry manufacturers. The company has matured into one of the most well-known switchgear specialists in the UK. The company invests heavily in the development of personnel, through apprenticeships, NVQ qualifications and higher education. Armah Switchgear holds numerous industry certifications for quality, health and safety, and process systems.

ARMAH Switchgear Ltd is a privately owned Company engaged in the Design, Manufacture, Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance of Electrical and Process Systems in Power, Water, Telecoms, Hospital, Chemical, Oil, Pharmaceutical and Construction Industries.

Capability & Capacity

Our 21,000 square foot factory, based in Washington in the North east of England, produces a wide range of products often designed specifically for our clients' needs. Our works are capable of producing over £1million of product per month. Products can range from small Distribution Boards for student accommodation, to full HV/LV infrastructures for large construction sites, automotive, water and pharmaceutical plants.

We specialise in replacing existing equipment, whilst keeping clients' downtime to a minimum - with a large portfolio of hospitals, shopping centres and major manufacturers - now changed from old switchgear to new, complete with the latest innovative components, design verified to BS EN 61439, and equipped with communicating products to ensure fully automated control.

Renewables

We work closely with universities and major suppliers of renewable energy, completing numerous projects comprising innovative PV, wind, energy storage and waste-to-energy technologies.
